ARM, listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, has diversified its portfolio to include platinum, coal, iron ore, copper, and other base metals. He is also the founder and chairman of African Rainbow Capital (ARC), a private equity firm focusing on investments in financial services, telecommunications, property, and agriculture.
Beyond his business achievements, Motsepe is a prominent philanthropist. In 1999, he established the Motsepe Foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of disadvantaged communities through education, healthcare, and job creation initiatives. The foundation has supported numerous projects across South Africa and the African continent, demonstrating his commitment to social responsibility.
Motsepe’s influence extends beyond the business and philanthropic spheres. In 2021, he was elected President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the governing body for African football. His election signaled a new era for African football, with a focus on improving governance, promoting youth development, and increasing the competitiveness of African teams on the global stage.
