Walter Adrián Samuel, nicknamed “Il Muro” (The Wall) in Italian, is an Argentine former professional footballer renowned for his exceptional defensive skills and commanding presence. Samuel began his professional journey with Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina before transferring to Boca Juniors in 1997. His partnership with Lúcio in central defense proved to be almost impenetrable, earning him the nickname “Il Muro” for his seemingly insurmountable defensive abilities.
